What Causes Hair Loss?

What Are The Real Underlying Causes Of Hair Loss?

what causes hair loss?

Everyone knows that a problem cannot be solved until you break it down into its various parts and determine the initial CAUSE of the problem you are trying to solve.

Many problem solving experts will tell you one technique to do this is by continuously asking Why? Until you get to the very root of the problem.

It seems very strange to us here at Stop and Regrow that not too many people have gone through this process when it comes to hair loss. If they had, they would not be working on cloning or PRP or stem cells or other treatments which work only by growing hair and not on stopping what ultimately are the underlying factors that cause you to lose hair in the first place.

You can refer to precision medicine to understand why treating the true underlying cause is really the only way to treat anything.

So what did Dr Nettles find when he kept asking why?

What he found was that while there are multiple types of hair loss, there is one type that is included in 95% of all hair loss cases.  That type is Androgenetic Alopecia.

Androgenetic Alopecia is characterized by hair that thins or miniaturizes over time. Most commonly this will start in the temples or the crown and spread back or out from there. The pattern of this type of hair loss is also commonly known as male pattern baldness although up to 40% of women will also be affected by female pattern hair loss.

OK, but what causes Androgenetic Alopecia?

After continuously asking “Why?” many more times Dr Nettles finally got to the root of the problem. This is what he found:

Androgenetic Alopecia (male/female pattern baldness) is caused by an inherited genetic defect on one or more enzymes within our bodies. Those impacted enzymes don’t work properly. In fact they become overactive and do too much work, causing our hormones and other biochemicals within our bodies to swing out of balance.

This imbalance is worsened further by lifestyle factors including poor nutrition and stress. And its actually this imbalance that causes you to lose your hair.

Hair Loss Is a Symptom

So hair loss is actually not a disease or condition in itself but simply a symptom or call for help by your body via your hair, letting you know that your body is out of balance or that something else is wrong internally and you need to do something about it.

Is There a Test To Learn The Causes Of Your Hair Loss?

The great thing is that Dr Nettles has created a set of labs called the Biochemical Report Card that provides him with a very comprehensive view of all the factors which could impact both your hair and overall health. You can learn more about the Biochemical Report card and the tests included here.

Once we understand all the factors impacting your hair and overall health, Dr Nettles then creates a personalized plan to re-balance your biochemistry and treat anything else found to get you so healthy your hair will regrow on its own. He also adds in a hair growth stimulant to speed up the process and regrow your hair much faster than it could on its own.

The other great thing about the Stop and Regrow program is our Risk Free Assessment.  If we either can't get to the root cause and identify the cause of your hair loss, or we don't believe the program will work for you, we'll refund your assessment fee and not take you on as a client.  You really can't lose either way - either you will know for sure what your problem is or your assessment is free.

However, a fundamental understanding of biochemistry and physics challenges this concept, reminding us that nothing in the universe, including DHT, simply disappears or is blocked without consequences.
